Job Description

Position Information:

This position is responsible to ensure the mechanical excellence of compressor and dehydration facilities and oversee personnel for an assigned work area. This position will be responsible for overall leadership, implementation of strategies, management oversight, performance of employees, and achievement of goals and strategies.

The Supervisor, Mechanical Services oversees the implementation of, updates and maintains, educates regarding, and reports on the effectiveness of strategies, processes, procedures, budgets, goals, and policies necessary to provide the support systems required for operations needs to enable the Company to achieve its Vision, Mission, Strategy and goals. The position provides leadership and guidance to mechanical personnel; oversight of operation, maintenance, inspection, analysis, predictive maintenance, automation support and testing criteria; schedules and assigns work related to operations, maintenance, and construction jobs, maintains awareness of the most current technology and equipment advances through research, and oversee training programs to enhance skills and technical competence of field personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:
Leadership Specific
• Be personally accountable for performance of employees in reporting area and achievement of area’s goals and strategies and teach employees in area to be likewise personally accountable.
• Demonstrate organization’s leadership skills and traits as outlined below
• Serve as role model for Company’s Guiding Principles and actively and vocally exhibits behaviors which champion its Vision and Mission.
• Engage in regular, consistent performance management, including coaching, teaching, appraising, and mentoring.

Position Specific
• Oversees, promotes and/or directs safe cost efficient, compliant, reliable operations and maintenance of assigned locations/facilities including budgeting and personnel issues.
• Manage risk and business impacts
• Ensure team members understand and are able to properly operate and provide routine maintenance for compressor station and dehydration equipment
• Oversee installation, monitoring, and preventative maintenance of compressor, dehydration and related auxiliary equipment and facilities.
• Directly supervises employees, including planning, assigning, and directing work, promotion/progression, compensation, goal setting, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Provides guidance to the mechanical technical support functions for new and existing facilities and management of the processes and personnel required for equipment, material specifications, testing, and certification.
• Reviews operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information from inappropriate parties both inside and outside of the organization.
• Develop goals and strategic plans for the work areas consistent with overall company goals. Communicate goals, business objectives, scorecards and progress to employees and stakeholders.
• Translate company Guiding Principles, Vision, Mission and Strategies into business & operating goals and daily business practices and relationships
• Establish effective two-way communication processes within the organization
• Monitor and improve profitability by improving processes and reducing operating expenses.
• Effectively develop employees to work independently, as fully engaged departments and teams and ensure knowledge transfer to team members.
• Creatively and constructively manage conflict and appropriately address and resolve employee disputes.
• Set priorities and allocate resources in a manner to successfully manage diverse array of projects varying in scope, size and duration.
• Develop relationships with customers and local governmental representatives.

Skills Required

Qualifications:
Minimum:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid driver’s license and insurability
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a scheduled, structured and an unscheduled, unstructured, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to teach area of expertise one-on-one and in small groups
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of reciprocating, turbine, compressor and dehydration facilities
• Moderate skill level in Microsoft Office Programs
• Successful experience in a leadership role (i.e., supervision, project lead, non-profit board, coach, etc.)
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of controls, instrumentation, automation of compressor and dehydration facilities

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership position (business leadership, project leadership, nonprofit board leadership, coaching, etc.)
• Knowledge of or recent experience in engineering, mechanical technical support, electrical, communications, or operations management
• Recent experience directly related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas transmission facilities
• Operations experience with high-pressure pipeline systems
• Experience directly related to the operation, maintenance, and control of natural gas facilities
• Knowledge of Company’s Operations & Maintenance manual
• Experience in applying applicable local, state and federal regulations and reporting requirements (DOT/PHMSA, OSHA, etc.)
• Knowledge of the natural gas transmission industry
• Ability to budget / forecast expense and capital
• Basic knowledge and understanding of compressor, pipeline and dehydration operations

Compensation:

$80,000 plus
